FYI Xi jingping is a chemical engineer from tsinghua university of china which is equivalent to india's IITs. Tsinghua university is spread in whole of china and are in 7 no.s and most prestigious in china like our IITs.
His predecessor hu jintao was also a hydro (eelctricl/mechanical) engineer from tsinghua university. Chinese leadership is driven by technocrats thats why they focus more on infrastructure and technology.
Our india also needs such technocrats to be leading our country. Only then we would be able to compete and be ahead of china.
