Does appreciation needs restriction...or it violates any policy of forumias or you have seem to go critical ..No offence please...
The 'Thanks' button was added to make it easier to appreciate someone's contribution. For helpful data like this, a lot of us would like to thank knight, but if everyone starts commenting then any other useful information might get buried in the deluge of appreciative comments. It is important for any forum to rid itself of junk and bloat in order to remain relevant and easily usable. I am not a moderator, I was just pointing out something which I thought you had missed. You are of course free to do as you wish.
Digressing further, I think it is not necessary to point out to every member here on what he "could have" done instead of what he actually did. Clicking on Like, Thanks, Flag etc is OK, but it is not meant for substituting the need of posting comments.
If we were to go by this very same logic, then I think there would have been no fights or provocative threads here on forumias. Everyone would have just "flagged" the inappropriate comments and moved on. But no! I see comments 3 times the length of original provocations!
Cutting it short, saying thanks via comments is not useless either. It keeps the thread alive and on top which helps other users catch notice of it as well. If anyone is a member of any warez site, then he would understand what I am trying to say here.
