CSE 2011 - compare the Indian and western construction of 'self ' with reference to cross cultural studies and bring out their implications for well-being .
what will b the answer for the bold part of the question ?
Is it asking about self-esteem , self-control , etc or something else ?
i am confused because of the word " their " , as self-esteem etc will be same for both Indian n western .

Indian self is familial and western one is individualistic. It will effect well being:(Some example) 1. An Indian girl/boy will surrender to normative pressure from society to sacrifice her/his love to do an arrange marriage (Family forms imp part of self) but an american will be assertive because his/her self is Individualistic. So Indian will regret about it, which may cause helplessness, anxiety and may affect well being (clash of normative and individual attitude). 2. Westerners are more prone to fundamental attributional error due to Individualistic self which result in less social support when someone fails. Even person himself believes he is reason of failure and self esteem goes down. In India, We fail because of our neighbours, family, friends, examiner so effect on self esteem is less. So self esteem as a concept is same in both countries but the factors affecting it differs in both cultures.
So basic difference is how we define 'self'. In India if one kid from village is IAS, whole village is happy and proud like IAS (Self is extended one). In west, only the person and his family will be happy. This will eventually affect self esteem, self control of person because feedback from society matters to us more than a westerner.
For research evidences. some one else may contribute ! Hope it helps...:)

I think You need to mention both depth cues with name of theories ( Role of culture or Innate (Acc to diff theories)) for explaining depth perception !

Though I am not sure, But I think it want to ask the different stages of development of psychological tests (Define construct (Attitude), Item, Validity & reliability, norming and all those steps mentioned in chapter 1 of Paper 2). You need to make those steps specific with mention of Psychology measurement techniques of Attitude (Likert for example) and kind of validity, reliability they need etc.

i am afraid its different here..the question is asking about how we develop likert/thurstone scale??-- it is given in ncert-- not sure whether new one or old one... will have to check.
