high population density of Kerala ?

What are the reason for the high population density of Kerala ?
besides coastal region & high life expectancy. But Malabar is emerged coast => less port => less trade and high life expectancy is along with low fertility rate.

Comments

  • 1. Malabar has the widest coastal plains in the eastern coastal India.Compared with narrow Konkan and Kannad coastal plains.
    2. Along with alluvial soil and high rainfall => support rich harvest of rice, rubber, coconut, coffee, tea and other spices(has even hill named after a spice called cardamom)
    3. Emerged coast => Lagoons become Kayals which is parallel to coastline => high transportation and both Inland and offshore fishing
    4. Despite emerged coast, It has a natural harbour in Kochi often called as Queen of Arabian Sea,which Facilitate trade especially in spices.
  • So concentration of population lead to high density bcz of good harvest and coastal feature. thanks @Yogiraj Singh Yadav .
