As we have to opt Mains center now itself, I request seniors who have given mains at Ahmedabad ,Bangalore & Hyderabad center to please give your feedback for
1) Infrastructure at center e:g Benches etc Plz mention school ,college name.
2) Budget Hotels nearby center for Outstation candidates
Ahmedabad....gave in 2014 Centre: Gujarat University (i forgot the exact college name) Area: Navrangpura, in the heart of the city Accomodation: Decent budget hotels are available in the vicinity in areas such as satellite, vastrapur which are at around 10-15 mins driving distance Food: you might have to rely on fast food during the afternoon while u are writing the exam as quality restaurants are not present in that area. there is one McDonalds at around 500 mtres frm the centre Infrastructure is pretty decent Connectivity is also good. Around 25-30 mins from railway station and 40 mins from airport

Its LD engineering college...Completely agree with rest of details....Infrastructure is one of d best in UPSC centres...snacks tea available at the college entrance itself...huge lawn nd ground to sit in d break with parking area for vehicles. ..BRTS stop 300 m from college... added d fact weather of ahmedabad in december is good !!

it used to b extremely cold in the mornings....and i used to travel all the way frm Shilaj whr i used to stay wid a frnd.....but overall it was a very enjoyable experience....

Go for it. It may rain, but the centre is in the heart of the city, with good transport facilities. Also, tar roads, so no problem of mud.
