I feel there has been a marked change in the pattern of questions being asked in prelims since the new chairman has come in ( the last two years that is). If you guys feel the same, then please post the areas you think would be important for this year . Eg. More institutions, committees, international bodies, summits etc.
Yes there is clear change in trend, since 2014 prelims, atleast in terms current affairs Qs being asked. Before that in couple of prelims UPSC was not focusing that much on CA factaual Qs But this changed since 2014 then there were many CA Qs in 2015. So if the this trend continues then again CA factaual Qs should be taken seriously (esp from Dec 2015-June 2016). Further all in all UPSC last year had set more of a factaual paper and less of conceptual Qs were there in comparison to previous yrs and this I guess will continue this year also. So we should try to read with a factaual eye apart from clearing our concepts.
PS: above analysis is based on my interpretation of UPSC papers but we should be careful and as UPSC is known to throw surprises.

having given the three attempts and seen the few previous year questions I do feel the pattern in 2014 and 2015 were different . they were either very factual or very easy or very confusing ! kindly share the strategy to master the facts
rather than seeing in terms of Chairman of UPSC we can see that in terms of Change of government...do remember to have some similar ideological leanings of the present which may help....atleast my views.... though it may seem insignificant if you add a drop of saffron in a tumbler of milk the whole colour changes...
May be I was mistaken to point out about the chairman. Not too sure on that front. But I thought that one does set a broad framework as to what is to be tested. But this theory is falsified given the new chairman joined later than the 2014 prelims.
But whatever be the case, it cannot be denied that the papers have seen a new trend. Thanks for your contribution guys
No predictions @gt2015 . that's dangerous n should never be done. I just wanted to confirm if current affairs have indeed gone up, and the questions have become more factual. A few others out here also feel the same. But then someone said, upsc is always up for surprises, so be ready for anything

He could have only influenced 2015's prelims, if at all.
