So I cud not even score 33% in paper 2 n m frustrated. I'm unable to recover from this n have been cursing myself. I plan to take coaching for csat but I dont know where to join. I'm not staying in Delhi but can come to Delhi for preparation as I hv friends who stay there and are appearing for mains this year. So guys please please help me out. I'm v poor in maths and I seriously think I need coaching. I just don't know where to join. Please suggest.

  • you are mistaken ( if you are from general category)

your estimated score i.e. 110-112 was not enough to clear the cut off.

So, first thing is that even if you got 110-112, you failed because of GS and not CSAT.

Second, your actual score will be 3-4 marks below what you have estimated. This is how goes for almost every aspirant every year. There are many who failed this time even with an expected score of 115+. It happens because estimation and actuality are not the one and same thing.

So, blaming CSAT instead of GS performance is highly illogical. It seems you are trying to fool yourself and trying to find an escape route as your GS score clearly tells that you were anyway going to fail irrespective of your score in CSAT.

Don't worry. CSAT will go just fine. All you need is some practice. You don't even need coaching. If you are weak in Maths, buy this book "Fast Track Arithmetic" and do all problems in those chapters which they have been asking in CSAT. Give free online mock tests once in a while. For English section, while reading newspapers, keep a notepad handy for jotting down meanings of those words you don't know and revise them once in a while. That should do.

For Paper-1, If you got 112+ now then you can get score 140+ next year. Good luck.
  • @freeman bhai, I am not denying the fact that I got screwed in paper 1 n not clearing due to less marks. I have friends too who are scoring 118 but cud not make it. I want to highlight the fact that I performed bad in paper 2 n needed some suggestions and highlights as to how to go about it.
It seems that despite preparing for UPSC which requires one to be polite while communicating with others, u have ur arrogance on! Chill ho jao bhai. Thand rakh.
Agar koi suggestion de sakta h paper 2 ko lekar to de Dena warna mat energy waste kar bhai.

Baaki members please yaar kuch help kar do.

    Its very genuine concern.
Since schools, I am very good at maths. Despite that this time , I couldn't cross 100 in csat. I just want highlight that we need to throw the attitude away, "abe ho hi jayega".
Please practice alot till you arr comfortable and most important keep excess anxiety at bay during exam regardsless how your paper 1 went.
On coaching I don't know. Just pick a good book and practice a lot. This should be enough. Roz 20 min practice karne m kya hi jaata hai
    Hope it helps :)

ok ... i am writing something after a long while especially for you.... i m a core humanities students and managed to write mains in csat era of DPA.... first of all you need not come to delhi.. maths can be taught by a decent tutor... any good/average tutor can do.. all you can do is 2 hour practice till january and thereafter just one hour practice 6 days a week. believe me getting 80 out of 200 in p2 is very easy after it has been made 66/200.... imagine our plight during csat era..... if you want even more practice you can join a test series for csat from february and every weekday give one more test.... all the engineers would give you suggestions but you can take mine as im a humanities student and can understand your problem and discrimination by examining bodies... so just remember practising 1-2 hours would solve your problem... all the best

  • Thank you guys! Lemme get started with prep with the right momentum now. Thanks for sharing your views.

Does anyone have any idea about how m.tyra is??
  • let me tell you one thing that i followed this for csat - do not rely on comprehension part. work on mathematics. if you solve it correctly there are little chances of getting it wrong. i solved only 40 questions but with 100% accuracy. it doesn't happen with comprehension. Many a time their answers are different from ours in comprehension. In Exam hall you make sure to devote your maximum time on doing math. we just need to qualify cast. Tyra is a good book or you can buy this one - http://www.amazon.in/Track-Objective-Arithmetic-Rajesh-Verma/dp/9351760146?ie=UTF8&keywords=m tyra&qid=1475766544&ref_=sr_1_4&sr=8-4

    Happy learning.
  • I was also weak in CSAT, but i made a strategy which worked for me.....
For ex- In CSAT you will always find 30Qs in passage, practice a lot to have sureshot in 25Qs.Vision Test is good (personal exp).
Now aptitude part can be easily handled if you had practised few Qs.Rest is Maths,on which some areas such as TIME/SPEED,RATIO,etc can be mastered and you can get around 5 to 8Qs in it.Thus you will sail through.

Imp point- Dont be overconfident as well as tensed , it will affect you performance. Just remain calm, your mind will do Wonder like UPSC do.
    Good luck
