Can service tax be removed without a money bill?? Recently post demonetization service tax for card payment below Rs. 2000 was waived off and FM tabled a 'notification' in Parliament. Doesn't it need a money bill as per Article 110(1)(a).
Please someone clarify.
I dnt think so that it can be done. As it was removed through an executive decision, just around 10 days ago, i think centre responded in sc that it was removed as a mere procedural matter for a temp period.
FDR once said,"It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something".the current plan may work or may completely fail,but anyday it is a step worth trying. Our shadow economy may or may not dismantle after 31st December (well only in relative terms, its never absolute), but doing nothing will definitely ensure that the show runs like it was running before.

Thanks buddy. Was the SC satisfied or will the govt need the money bill presented in LS? Because even today FM announced tax breaks for merchants using digital payments. Please help. @preetkarandhaliwal
