  • I just read the basic stuff that we read for prelims.
I have never prepared geography, just read Mrunal's ppts before the exam.
For world history, I read Vision material.
Nothing specific for social issues part except mains 365.

Wrote what was asked, relevant points, addressed all subparts, drew diagrams wherever I could (South China Sea, air masses etc).
That was it. Nothing special, nothing fancy.

Wrote a few lines in Krishnadevaraya question and also a few lines in West Africa question. Content wasn't that relevant in these two. In others it was fine.
Can't honestly help much, since I didn't do anything extraordinary here. And people have got good scores. I know several with 120+. :)
  • @DrKingSchultz bro, please create a Mains discussion thread.

thanks mate........ i want to know one more thing .....my ans has a word limit of 165-170 in general while when i see copies of topper (vision)....they write little more on average.......they give soln even it is not asked explicitly....should i increase my elaboration if i m not getting close to 200 words (off course in all questn it is impossible but at least in
a few) or stick to quality only.....
  • @DrKingSchultz bro, please create a Mains discussion thread.

My Gs Score in 2016 are
    Gs1 98
    gs2 78
    gs3 108
    gs4 99..
I read only current affairs and did test series should I read anything static too?
  • Strategy: I just try to show how knowledgeable I'm. This can be done easily If you have prepared well for preliminaries. It gives you some keywords. Eg:- In Krishnadevarai question last year.. I used terms ASHTHAPRADHAN, TENALIRAMAN, AMUKTAMALDYA. And the other portion was a little hawabazi which anyone can write easily. And the answer was complete. However it may backfire many times. It is the Strategy for such surprise questions.
Note:- I didn't get such great marks  like @drkingSchultz and @Yo_Yo_Choti_Singh in GS pprs . I managed to cross 145 in essay and in both optionals Which brought me into the interviews.
