Increase your speed, write short sentences, use more of point form, eliminate unnecessary jargon and obvious explanations, keep introduction small. The basic things should be covered first then other dimensions. Try writing one or two answers with less thinking and check whether it affects the quality of answers or not. If not much, then do not waste time thinking a lot and just get on to write. If it does affect, do whatever but increase ur speed. 16 is too less and risky.

Dont worry much. You will write 20 on the D day. It just happens there. Stay calm. If you were writing 12-14, it may have been a problem, 16-18 is good - exam hall conditions brings the best out. Best wishes!

It would only come with practice But for those who have mains, I would advise that try to increase the speed since the beginning itself, and in case you are spending too much time on the questions, they should be really good, to get you atleast a 5 or 6 in some questions and a minimum 4 in others. Although, 80 in mock tests is okay, since the institutes tend to be more strict so that the students improve.
Have read vision mains and reasonable amount of static topic but i am just not able to remember the relevant fodder while writting an answer, why this is so volatile or is it just me ? I am not satisfied with the answer i put on paper till now.
