To understand " Reverse Vaccinology" you must understand how vaccines are created. So
    IMMUNOLOGY 101
A vaccine is created by in vitro attenuating a microorganism and using a protein that resembles the attenuated disease-causing microorganism to get a immune response. now there is a catch , the catch here is we have to grow the pathogen in laboratory conditions and the components building the pathogen are first identified one at a time The identification of protective antigens that could be potential vaccine candidates involves separating each and every part of the pathogen which is time consuming and the most abundant proteins are most often not suitable vaccine candidates, and the genetic tools required to identify the less abundant components is inadequate i.e the part of the pathogen which we are going use instead of using the damn pathogen to bait our immune system for a immune response is sometimes not suitable and not available in sufficient quantities and in majority of cases sufficient amount of pathogen cannot be grown in vitro for playing with it.

In REVERSE IMMUNOLOGY vaccine development takes advantage of the genome sequence of the pathogen using bio informatics we can data mine virtually all protein antigens that the pathogen can express at any time and, by computer analysis, predicts those antigens that are most likely to be vaccine candidates . Basically like google's page rank algorithm we get our suitable webpage so in reverse vaccinology they us a variety of tools and algos to identify suitable protein for our purpose.
  • thanks mate

    In REVERSE IMMUNOLOGY
Please confirm if I have understood it correctly.....

In immunology, attenuated pathogens are injected into the body and the body creates antigens and thus immunity is developed.

In reverse immunology, genome sequence is studied using bio-informatics/ biotech and potential protein antigens are injected into the body.

Attenuated pathogens are not required to be injected in all the cases sometimes only suitable protein subunits are required and sometimes only certain toxins are used for getting an immune response for that we need various mediums to grow a lot of these pathogens which is a tedious task so we can use reverse vaccinology to which we can identify suitable antibody generators which is difficult to identify in normal process.
