I am become dumber imo as time is progressing in this prep..However, it does not matter what is the syllabus n pattern..people with good aptitude skills can do anything
Bingo!! aptitude is nothing but IQ... of course, people with good IQ perform better in other exams also, if not upsc. At last aptitude wins over muggers
It’s not about CSAT paper only. What people miss out is that post CSAT qualifying era , there is only one paper; Gs or not it does not matter , but having only 100 questions that too quite skewed one , see there were 70 questions from current affairs in 2016 and fairly traditional paper in 2017 ! Now here is the catch . There should be 2 papers at least . Whether it is CSAT or not is not the criteria . But making prelims a gamble is taking heavy toll on sincere students . More so when post 2014 , most questions have become factual and the era of concepts I.e 2011 to 2014 is gone. Now those claiming to be from good colleges have probably forgotten that it is not the CSAT that killed people primarily , it was the conceptual GS paper that was a real risk for most of these people who just mug up facts (Stephens or ramjas or even many IITians who failed prelims thrice in CSAT era ) So please look deeply into it and realise why all those people failed in CSAT era! Rest it is a toll on the country where ppl who used to mug up facts made it to the list till 2010 but fumbled in CSAT era . In my view it was a welcome change to have certain aptitude and conceptual paper in Gs and then fair test in mains having 4 papers ! Rest who cares about these things . Just keep preparing and try your luck !!
Not that I know of people from Stephen's who failed between 2010-2013 because of the concept centric paper (sounds bizzare though) but the fact that the entry is through a teeny tiny hole of 100 questions makes sense.

Well, it is hard work. But it's not what should be the sole criteria for pre. Anyways, pm gave that statement (which was awful imo).
