@Oldhorse Do u have any idea whether the concepts explained in the coaching notes for western philosophy are correct or not ??
Some concepts I can say are totally wrong like Berkeley's idealism, svatah-partah controversy, satkaryavad-asatkaryavad controversy. You have to take a stand which one is more logical. U can't say both are correct.
In other parts, there is not enough material or full explanation. Buddhism coverage is pathetic. Sunyavad, vijyanvad, svatantra vijanavad are not covered at all. Vaisesika coverage is also not good. In western also Locke Berkeley and hume isn't covered well. Kant is good but hegal is pathetic. These parts are covered well in CD Sharma and mashih.
@Oldhorse can u plz share ur approach for philosophy optional... Class notes r not enough now.. How one should frame gud answer
@doc I would suggest studying c d jha for Indian part. Some topics are also very well covered in dutt and Chatterjee. For western, y mashih is excellent though it requires some effort.
Also, I think in some topics coaching notes are not correct. For ex in svatah and partah pramanyavada one has to take the stand that svatah is more logical than partah. Berkeley idealism cannot be called objective, coachings teach otherwise etc etc For contemporary part I am clueless though
