  • Gs score paper discussion
  • Based on my interaction with other candidates, general view is that gs1 was easier than last year(quite obvious because of last year's extremely tough paper). Gs 2 was somewhat similar to last year's paper, although some complained about tougher map questions; lengthier nature of the paper; and some even called it vague and gs type. Don't know how exactly moderation is done.

    Hi raufna
I found paper 2 of geography extremely lengthy as compare to gs papers where I complete nearly all papers except gs 1

In paper 2 i found complete gs touch and as many pointed out that we should use geographical angle in.papaer 2 i am not able to do so

Paper 1 I wrote almost same as has been taught in coaching as I had took coaching just before mains, except human geography questions where I do not remember geographer name and there book

    This is my honest appraisal

Sorry, in my previous comment I meant Geo1 & 2, not gs1 and 2. It was a typo.
  • Guys I think 1st paper was little bit easy compare to last year but not easy at all.....eurocentricity ,exopolis, tough human geography portion.....106,86 last two years score .....# eurocentricity question left and one blunder in triwartha basis portion ,...Due to lake of time controlling population growth and environment problem solution question answerd in flow chart (4minutes)...# # compare to last year ..quality has improved , map and diagram jyada banaye h .......# hoping for some goodness.
  • 2nd paper was gs type ....6 location right , ...Sez linked with growth pole theory and cag report ( current) , kuch questions (2a )ke alawa sabhi m current linked h , rimland theory in indian ocean question , urban morphology - multiple nuclei model, ...# nothing left , 50 marks quality not best ( lack of time ....### more map and diagram , improvement in current linkage , quality improvement hua h ,...## ... Confidence bne rhne ke lie interview call (minimum ) hona jruri h ...Jo 2 bar se nhi hua h .....129,131 (2016,2017)

Yes paper 1 was not a cake walk. Section B 10makers were from unconventional areas. Areal differentiation question was not straight forward (please discuss what you people have written) and i didn't know what Smith contributed except some criteria he given for defining well being. Coming to section A it was easy. But scoring 140+ needs best performance in section B.
  • What you guys have written for driving forces of changing urban morphology. I have written there is no stepped migration in india, so million + cities morphology changing rapidly. I also mentioned some other forces which i am not remembering now.
