Invest in oil filled radiator heater. A bit costly but worth the investment. And in 2-3 years you will break even on investment via lower electricity bills. Go for a 9 fin heater.

Halogen and fan heaters decrease relative humidity of room drastically and you will end up having your lips, throat and eyes dry. You will end up paying more for electricity as even a 800W halogen heater will have to run continuously to heat up your room. While in OFR heater the specific heat of oil filled radiators will keep room warm long after it's been switched off.

P.S. Gifted two Morphy Richards 11 Fin OFR heaters to my parents earlier this month after thorough research. Copied the content above from my answer to a similar question on Quora.
  • Doesn't answer your question.. I bought a heat pack from medical store. Fill hot water 3-4 times a day and keep it where required. Works for me
  • Usha Quartz Room Heater (3002) 800-Watt

    I find this one fine

And agar ek bhi rod kharab ho jaye within exchange period then get it exchanged.
  • Bro buy orpat heater. 900 rupees. Heats room in a jiffy and doesn't make much noise. If you want to start your grahasti then can go for more expensive ones.
  • Bajaj fan heater will cost you around 2000. Warranty period 2 years. Works well. Noise not significant.
  • orpat ka single rod heater aata hai for 800 rs woh le lo
    2-3 years kaam karegaa :)
  • Thank you all, for valuable inputs.

between halogen and blower (fan heater), prefer halogen.
(blower makes a little sound, but very low, less than a fan, so its sound is never a concern/factor in the selection. ppl sleep and study in coolers. the blower sound is near about same as low sound AC).
but quartz can be preferred over halogen (same wattage, less light).
keep a bowl of water near the heater (whichever heater you use).
  • Plz sit on gas stove... Sab kuch garam ho jaega
  • Halogen is the best heater
