Query - perspectives of human geography should we stick to syllabus or go further as in post modernism and feminist movement and all ?
Stick to syllabus but don't ignore subtopics under the broad topics. Best source is RD dixit book - difficult to read but worth reading.
Oh ok. But I'm already following majid Hussain. Cant change that now. Also can you suggest some source for environmentalism ? Majid Hussain doesn't cover that.

Bhai, have you read Majid Hussain Sir's book? Any comparison b/w the two?
I have read both and found Rd dixit to be more comprehensive but not complete book is to be read. If you know someone from Shabbir sir class ask him which pages and what passages to read from it.

I am aiming for 2020 and this would be my very first attempt. Its only been a week that I have started to prepare for the optional. I am preparing through self study. Also on a time crunch as I work full time. Would you start preparing paper1 or paper2 first ? Also ncerts would class11 and 12 suffice ? Any pointers on this would be appreciated. I also like the idea of a dedicated watsapp group for optional based discussions.

Start with Paper 1. Paper 2 is basically where you bring all that you studied in paper 1 and mix it with current affairs and then write relevant points. There is not really much you can do separately for paper 2 without paper 1 background.
