Hello Folks !!!
I am literally very confused between Patna and Delhi in overall upsc environment. I have done my coaching at vajiram and Ravi now I just have to lock myself in room and do self study. I have never been to Patna for upsc preparation . So if anyone is preparing from there or prepared from there please suggest overall environment like test series offline centres, optional test series study materials and all.
As far as rent is considered I feel both are at par Patna is also costly in terms of rent as like Delhi ...what about upsc wala mahool I have to appear for Bpsc simultaneously and I think Bpsc coachings are good there.
Delhi has lot of advantage I know in terms of preparation....I am from Gaya if I rent a room in Patna it will be near to place ( 3hrs journey by train) so I can go and realax in weekends also my parents can visit my place .....this is the best thing.......
Please suggest guys I m literally very confused !!!!

I would anyday prefer location around home(Patna) over delhi provided you are done with classes(optional & gs). Test series of almost all popular optional/essay are already available online(except few). You check with your optional. Standard GS test series are available offline too.(vision/KSG etc). Staying near hometown had huge advantage in my opinion.
One more thing, I feel that after attending UPSC classes you won't need any dedicated coaching for BPSC.(Just an opinion. You can judge that better)
So staying at home and visiting Patna inbetween for material/tests is also a better option if you know how to deal with societal pressure and can aggressively study by locking the door.
P.S.- Locking yourself in room and studying is a myth in my opinion
if i hv to advice my young brother or sister or true friend, i wil simply ask her to come to delhi without giving any second thoughts. hell, i will drag her to delhi and enrol her at vajiram/forum/vision.
but if i m giving a topper's talk, i will say, "do self-study, study from home, read newspapers and magazines, u can do it in first attempt, coachingwalas are demons, use funacademy" and other bullshit like that.
hope evryone got the idea.
Patna is an ancient city that sprawls along the south bank of the Ganges River in Bihar, northeast India
B..U..T,
It is not delhi's fault or patna's fault that people fail. People with ability do clear exam from every city.
HOWEVER,
Staying in big city among students of similar aptitude and goal does have lots of advantages especially in terms of environment and amount of information available. I know people who had never enrolled in any coaching except for test series but stayed in Delhi and cleared the exam. Coaching can also improve your performance but any also get disappointed ( same people can also like other institute).
In fact there is no guarantee of satisfaction. It is also impossible to tell who should join own institute and who should not.
In short Delhi does have advantage over Patna. The only thing you should have in your mind is economic viability. If u can manage finances then don't give second thought and when you come here try get company of serious people ( most difficult to find such a group, coaching is the best place to form one such group also the libraries).
CAUTION
Coming to Delhi does not guarantee your betterment. This depends entirely upon your personal qualities.
Thanks! Good Luck!
