  • I am in with geo, can we share geography questions asked in earlier interviews
  • @pankaj121 @Trench @rks21 @Jamz @Aspirantcse
guys congratulations and i hope all of you get through the intervew...

sorry for spoiling but it wud be very helpful for us to know what killed our mains geography. kindly share ur experiences, attempt number, geo and tot marks expected, books referred and any other suggestions. I was expecting 200.
  • in with geo, but im not very hopeful of getting good marks in it
  • @sandra Thanks. It is actually difficult to analyse until we get the final marks. For me personally, I think I did a lot of writing practice (1 hour on a daily basis after prelims) in a group (all 4 of us selected, 2 with geo), which actually proved to be boon. This way I was able to attempt nearly all the questions in GS with satisfying quality. It also helped me in framing good quality answers in Geo paper 2. In geo, I attempted 240 in paper-1 and all in paper 2. Fortunately, I knew several questions in detail which were unseen by many like Seiches, CHC, noise pollution level etc. in paper 1 which might have helped. But all these assessments are subjected to severe change, once the final marks arrive. What I can say at this point of time - write as much as possible, we dont have much time after prelims 2014 - I am gona do the same after my interview.
  • @Jamz
thank you very much. its really so kind of you to take time to write the mail. I too have started practising recently. could you kindly tell me if these textbooks were sufficient to refer: savindra singh, strahler, majid world human geography, majid and khullar for indian geography, internet for contemporary issues? I wish you all the very best of luck man :)
  • @sandra Thanks dude/dudette. Well I think the kind of questions they are now asking, anything is insufficient. I really dont know the answer of your question, infact this is going to be my dilemma as well for 2014. Apart from revising the usual stuffs which is done by all, I plan to read the xerox copies of the answers given by Shabbir Sir in his test series. This is so because I read seiches in his model answers last year and I dont think it was present in any text books.
  • @Jamz your way of preparation is excellent..i will try to do the same.... But which book s did you refer as most of the first paper questions are out of normal jargon of geography....
@sandra... Adding to the @jamz's inputs.... Try to correlate the question with contemporary social context... This we could do by the way of illustrating with geographical examples around you.. Of we observe some of the questions being asked seemed to be very general especially in paper two.... These questions are the game changes in my opinion... Here is the logic.. If the question is very tough to you it is same for others ( we should not bother about extraordinary :) ). So who ever performs well in these so called easy questions they will score high.. Recollect the quotation " great people dont do the great things but they do things greatly"..
