After reading few toppers interview apart from quality of hours both quantity of hours is also important or ekes we won't b able to meet the demands of UPSC Exam . Apart from newspaper reading n notes making(3.5hr) I am hardly able read for another 4 hrs ... Rest time goes for net surfing etc..I know its too less , I need some suggestions to increase my study time.. How about my fellow aspirants ??
bro notes making is a very troublesome(but equally fruitful) task. it takes a lot of time to condense the data/facts of the whole chapter in 2-4 pages. but once done it exponentially decreases the revision time.
i do not want to sound rude but in my humble opinion you are spending very less time (3+4) {/if you are not an employed aspirant}
internet use should be judicious. reduce the web surfing time. use it for watching videos only when you are having dinner/lunch. focus on your notes making once done you will hardly touch the books. and the subsequent revision would be a lot more faster.

It may b true but I suppose this exam demands long hours of preparation ie each ARC report contains ~100-150+ pages ???there r many such , just with quality study is it possible to read , understand , remember /note making for 100 pg /day with 4-5 hrs apart from newspaper . How r everyone managing to read for long hours ? Any tips

yes quantity matters but the key is how you manage your time across various subjects. You dont have to study all the reports and in their entirety. Be selective and focus on completing the entire syllabus in time no matter what source you read it from. Trust me completing all the topics in the syllabus is easier said than done but this will definitely fetch you more marks than indepth study of select topics.
