Newspaper articles for Mains 2014

edited August 2014 in Miscellaneous
I suggest we post links to articles from various newspapers (The Hindu, IE and beyond) on this thread. The articles should be relevant to and focused on the GS Mains papers, esp. GS II and GS III, sufficiently informative and argumentative in nature, good enough to create some sort of a base for every candidate.

Please try and post links for the benefit of mobile users.

You want a question formulated or are you looking for an article on the planning commission from the Hindu?

  • If a few people are interested I think it would be helpful to consolidate current affair topics for GS2 and GS3 (along with related links ) so that there are no surprises in the exam - anyone interested?
  • For ias mains 2014,you can have a look for exclusive collection of newspaper article

I am. There's one experience which I'd like to share with everyone though. I was a part of that ias mentors group (mains) started by Mr. Manivannan. He made us prepare a grid (subject wise) of important topics taken from the newpapers and previous exams. What i felt was that the entire process is very time consuming, the topics collected are diverse, wide and way too much, esp. Considering the limited time we have. Basically, in the initial stages of prep we tend to pile in everything that seems even remotely important.

So I'd suggest compiling news/journal/magazine articles for the first two months and then in the last month before the exam putting out a list of topics/issues that all ought to have covered for gs ii and gs iii. This is my suggestion.
  • If anyone has the collection of articles ( even last few months will do ) by CRL Narsimhan ( The Hindu ) , Please share
