I want to know what % of people would have got these two short notes right.. "Industrial Democracy" and "Millenarian Movements". Did anybody here? I got none.. wasted a little time writing these and worse, i could not respond to an easy one "Sacred and Profane". This is apart from few other short notes which i feel are too inadequately written due to time crunch..
@harshm Industrial Democracy: I made it up then and there only and I think there is no specificity other than article number 43A.
Millenarian Movements: You can find it in any book...I made a mistake though writing that these movements "started in America" (while writing it, I felt something wrong but as you have mentioned due to paucity of time I just didn't cut it and went on explaining further)...such movements are widespread across the world in communities facing grave injustice, loss of any hope, despair etc etc.
btw if you are doing some sort of aftermath analysis of the paper, what do you think about difficulty level of the paper and general response of the candidates?
@jmmeena I made industrial democracy a form of democracy rather than democracy in industries :P On the second one, i was probably short on texts then. What were your sources, both, specifically on this topic and in general for paper 1? I could not catch this in giddens or class notes (upendra's)
I think these short notes are conceptual ones. They will check whether we understand it or not. Description and detail should not matter in my view.
Taking into account the choices offered, I feel there were enough doable questions. If somebody is able to include more relevant points, they should be able to score high. But again, i want to know whether people were able to do so with that time crunch. Overall I am very dissatisfied with my performance in sociology (paper 1) as it seemed then that many of my answers lacked in content. Paper 2 i found decent. Again two short notes slipped (24 marks). Rest, i feel i have responded with some relevant content. For me the evaluation is only out of 540.

millenarian movements - haralambos & heald pg. 471 sociology needs repeated revision... we may have understood the concepts, but we cannot write in the exam unless we've revised 'n' no. of times
