MS or UPSC ?

edited February 2015 in Miscellaneous
On one hand is a choice of going for MS ,2 years of pain which would result in 80k$ min, lavish life.
And on the other is Upsc with undefined years of struggle and still u will earn peanuts.
Any masters out there or upsc experienced help.
Criticism will be taken in healthy spirit.

I did MS, worked for some time and then came back for UPSC. I think it was a good plan given the mercurial nature of UPSC. You just need to make sure that you don't invest too much in the MS so that you are not in a net loss when you return, and second that you don't like it there so much that you are unable to give it up..
  • True that @asg & well put, We're on a similar path ;)

@peskyelectron if you really feel UPSC as an undefined struggle, I couldn't speak for you. But more than anything, the dynamism within the services is much better than any lavish lifestyle/80 Ks!

Good luck to you whatever your choices are...

It's all personal choice and the way you want to see urself. One thing for ur sure u will always see grass on other side greener. I believe UPSC is not about money it's more about prestigious services and respect you get in society. A Google engineer might be earning 100K USD as a starting salary but he can not have power and respect that of an I AS. So it's all up to u and where u r inclined towards. Don't compare with money and lavish life just think what ur vision and goals are.
