The pain of failing esp at upsc - no one can understand that but only the one who is failing. Your parents, friends can do nothing for you but can say some soothing words and that doesn't help frankly speaking
I really want to know from those people who failed , how they came out of that turbulent situation, how they told their parents that ya mom dad m failed again , how those aspirants having no more attempts or their last attempt managed to look at life at the time they invested on upsc n still got nothing
Please don't troll here , genuine experiences will be highly appreciated. U may be helping someone in need

Sorry for sounding philosophical.
I generally don't ponder over my failures , i am good to go very next day. But this time i am not able to pick my self up. I have an opportunity waiting for me in coming months and even UPSC prelims isn't far away now yet i am not able to work. I just feel like crying all the time and worst thing is i am not even able to cry.
I don't even know why am i posting all this overhere. I myself can only change this situation yet i am not able to.

Tell them you are working towards it.
If they understand, well and good; if they don't, become adamant, they'll relent eventually.
Tell your friends that you're working towards your goal IF they ask. When they dissuade you, tell them that you're free to do whatever you want (don't sour relationships, not only because it hampers mental peace but because pata nahi kaun kab kaam aa jaaye.
If you have a boyfriend/girlfriend who understands you and respects your goals, well and good.
If not, breakup. They're of no use to you at present. And they won't help you in the future either; ego gets in the way.
In the end, it's your life. And a very short period at that - 3, 4 years. Do what you want. If you REALLY want a service, don't delve into failures. Learn from them and put your entire energy into the next attempt.
.
Look at Lal bhai; 5 attempts, prelims failure in 5th after getting into reserve list earlier (and rejecting the job). He still managed to put up 10 comments on the 2017 question bank thread within 2 days of it's inception. Hats off to his perseverance!
1. I won't marry.
2. I may get a tattoo saying 'Loser'.
3. Complete cut-off from friends and relatives.
