is sharing log in ID and password for online videos also comes under piracy ...like visionIAS online portal log in..just sharing these details..
In my opinion, that does not come under piracy. You can share uername and password with your friends, and family. Even Netflix does not have problem with that.
It is problematic I think when people download and sell it or do monetary transaction.
What if i charge some money for sharing the details..now its piracy? Like we have purchased a course and share between 3 friends....are we vulnerable to copyright and piracy claim?

Dont think that would qualify as piracy, "unless" you found those friends on forumias or telegram and created a post to announce that you are looking for people to do this. Then you are in problem.

if i file an FIR against say @mango_dolly or for that matter say Anudeep any other older member ( say on something i feel offended ) or say something some person said regarding reservation or against a dalit and a some guy who is from such caste feels bad ( surfing some other threads) ; who ( against whom FIR is filed) may not want his information shared as he is not active on platform. will his email / ip address and other info available with forum will be shared with police ? @root

If the police accepts an FIR then it is a good enough crime.
If FIR is filed then yes we have to give information. Then they contact Airtel and Airtel gives them the contact details based on IP. Airtel also has to do it. Note that FIR is not filed just like that. A person of at least ASP or DCP ranks ( and not an SHO ) will usually be required to file an FIR.
Lastly we are also an accused / party so we have to comply.
Also , making stupid remarks on caste lines or against head of state or government which would attract a criminal offence in real life is also a crime if you do it here.
Some people think they can get away with it , is only because the suing party may not be interested in pursuing the matter as it is a costly affair - in terms of money and time and lawyer.
Once the suing party decides to spend the money like 1-2 lakhs on a good lawsuit , and decided to invest energy in pursuing a case , then you can pretty much be assured that you can be in trouble.
One can get away only when the victim does not have the time money or energy to pursue a legal case.
1) Please provide an option to permanently delete ForumIAS Account. If the account registration takes place by the free will of the account holder, so should also be account deletion by free will.
2) Banning shouldn't be of the accounts but they should rather be of the IP address from which account is being operated.
Please consider incorporating these two requests by accordingly directing your tech team for the same. I think these issues have been raised earlier too by many members here.

I guess the best thing is to use some VPN service or Tor. Pataa nahi kab, kaun, kis cheez par offend ho jaaye aur case karde.
What if someone uses my 2 year old comment to register a case
Forum should give an option to delete the profile and all the comments. Every other site has this option.
