  • First and second doesn't matter anymore.

Earlier, first optional was the one you appeared for in the preliminary exam; but now with a common preliminary exam, the terminology 'first optional' and 'second optional' is only an anachronism.
  • @zameen You have a compelling reason to take up those two optionals. Nothing wrong with it. Go ahead.

I would recommend going with the class notes of Neetu Singh + Alok Ranjan from Delhi. You can also supplement them with Vajiram's Shabeer Sir's notes , for the topics missed out by other two teachers.

You don't have much time right now as you must begin Prelims preparation at least from January, if you have no experience of Prelims exam.

Once you have mastered the notes (And they are in good handwriting plus easy to read like from books), you may look for adding to your knowledge by reading books.

But then that is my opinion. Also ask the opinion of others.
I've read in quite of few threads about class notes of these teachers being good enough for Geography preparation so thinking of getting them. Can you let me know how I can go about it. I'm from south India so can we get the notes by courier? and whom do we have to contact for the notes?
  • hi folks............can anyone here suggest me how to prepare geography for pre + mains .?
(like best source for each topic..) thanks..
  • can you pls suggest me best teacher in delhi for geography optional in ias 2014.....thnx
