Hello guys... I started my preparation after my graduation(july 2013). But then my parents wanted me to join any other service(backup) and then prepare for CSE. I am going to join Canara bank this month. Now I am starting my preparation again from scratch for CSE-2015...hope you guys help me...

After much deliberation I've chosen Pol Science as my optional. I've read at many places that the first 3-4 months (if you start in June) are ideal for prepping the optional, so am currently reading the NCERTs.
Any inputs/suggestions on how to go about (thorough reading or learning or simply understanding concepts) with NCERTs ?
I don't know how to go about Pol Sc. NCERTs. But for History & Geography I would suggest to- 1. Give a quick read once highlighting the concepts/terms/imp. events. 2. Once done, go through previous year questions pre/mains from the subject. 3. Now start your 2nd read, underline things important from exam's perspective (you can colour-code your book); while reading note down terms/name of landforms/event on a rough page (just the names); 4. Once you finish off a particular chapter, go through the list- try to recall all about the topic, if you have missed something don't panic re-read that part quickly then and there. I would suggest revisions on weekends, eventually you will be able to pick important terms/concepts effortlessly.
This is how i'm doing NCERTs. Develop your own style of learning which ever works best for you. I'm done with history, have started with geography NCERTs. I'm still undecided about optional though, thinking about Sociology..
There is a huge discussion about Sriram vs Vajiram. The difference is this: those in the know; those who want quality; those from Delhi, and other well-informed places are opting for Sri. Masses from interiors who are ill-informed and go by propaganda are going for vaji. 8/10 vaji students are regrettors while the rest are illiterate. sri updates regularly; vaji is pre- 2010; except one or two sidely faculty, all the rest of Sriram's are the best in the business. Sriram sir is a shining example. vaji tho naam par chal raha hai. Sri is the blind choice. dont talk to losers. talk to bright lot. they will tell you the truth. -
@crux this sounds like a practical method. I believe every subject can begin with a quick read first and for pol science specifically, a thorough reading/learning of concepts should suffice in the beginning. Are you taking or planning to take coaching ? Maybe talk to some seniors on here about Socio they give good perspective.
