Means science essay has got good marks as compared to others
Means not to dare in opting general essay which is choice of many
Gandhi essay or would i say it was more related to "change" than Gandhi.Thats how i tackled the essay .Got 115.This essay was put to check the psychology of candidates rather than the knowledge. So many candidates messed big time in this essay by merely presenting their knowledge rather than their mind set.

What I wrote was how we need to change ourselves our own views regarding secularism honesty corruption etc and act on it and not merely lecturing on it and globally countries like P5 first needs to change them in terms of nuclear safety global warming b4 asking us to change..I don't know what went wrong

Yes you are right .Candidates were expected to elaborate quotation and present their mindset "be the change you want to see in others" Ghandhiji 's role was only to make this quotation but students ne jabarjasti Gandhi and his private/public life ke baare mein likh daala.
In question regarding quotations (in Essay /There were 3 questions in GSIV also. One is expected to write the mindset behind saying such quotes supplemented with own mindset and examples. It is not to write about narrator). Pub Ad/Socio/PSIR /Philosphy guys are well aware of this fact. Most of this mistake was commited by others upto my understanding.
@Flywheel Mainly debated over the colonial mentality question and whether it has or has not affected India's growth/success. What does colonial mentality mean, examples of such psyche, history of development of such mentality, some examples again, how years of british rule made us somewhat timid and subservient to some sort of authority, examples, this psyche cannot breed innovation as innovation requires free and enterprising mind,Examples of such mentality in modern India i.e. strict rule following, making excuses for inefficiency or delay in the name of rule following,How it effects India's growth,Also debated whether this mentality argument is prominent enough to affect India's progress, gave some examples of Indian innovations and remarkable success in Space and missile programmes etc. Concluded with a balanced statement. I felt that I could have elaborated more on such mentality of public service officials but had wasted much time on history and pshychological aspects. Got 128 so it was okay I guess.
