I don't think, they would ask anything which is directly related to El Nino or Indian Monsoons. . These topics have already been chewed, ingested, digested, masticated, by most of the people. including people who don't have geo optional. Well, they were asked in geography section test last week for me, Even i was puzzled but maybe they are expecting a tougher paper this time given people have been acclimatized with the pattern. Last year, the qns were a lot direct for me.
Also, this week in S&T of Hindu, came a good piece on why there is more rainfall in the WG region of Karnataka during monsoons and not in Maharashtra and Kerala. Do read it in case you missed.
