    Solution to the above Cylinder problem -

    Involves a bit of imagination.

    Imagine you begin to unwind the thread by rolling the cylinder, while holding the thread at point A.

    After you would have rolled the cylinder "n" times, the thread will completely unwind.

    What you will see is a Right-Angled triangle formed with "h" as perpendicular, length of the thread as hypotenuse and the base as "n" times 2*pi*r.

    Plug in the value of r=2/pi and use Pythagoras to get the length of the thread as underroot(16n^2 + h^2) :)

    What is the length of the string?
    Length of string= √(h^2 + (4n)^2)
    (not sure about this answer since I do not have access to a pen and paper right now)
